With the recent news of Google’s acquisition of Boston Dynamics, I am finally inspired to write this over-due post.
I first heard about Boston Dynamics several months ago, when Wired.com reported about this futuristic and high tech company specializing in “building dynamic robots and software for human simulation” according to their website.
What is interesting is that DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) is funding the research and development of these robots—namely Cheetah (tethered by an electronic leash), and now Wildcat, which can move untethered at speeds up to 16 mph.
Now that Google has acquired Boston Dynamics, are they working hand-in hand with DARPA and the US military?
